The highest mine in Europe

The historical mining at the Schneeberg mountain represents a piece of industrial history in the high mountain region. The highest mine in Europe posted major challenges to men and technology since the early Middle Ages. Today, the former miners’ village with exhibition room and mine site, as well as the hosted mountain hut can be reached by foot during the summer. This unique industrial monument is part of the Mining State Museum. Reference to this unique attraction is made in the Bunker Museum and the visitor is invited to local explorations.
